An ad hoc committee will conduct a study and prepare a report that integrates the natural, physical, technical, and social sciences knowledge bases to increase resilience to extreme events and hazards in the United States.

Testimony of DR Chairman, Dr. John R. Harrald to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
The Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs invited the Chair of the Disasters Roundtable, Dr. John R. Harrald to give testimony to its Subcommittee on State, Local, and Private Sector Preparedness and Integration. Dr. Harrald was asked to share knowledge from his experience and work with the Disasters Roundtable to improve community preparedness and resilience to disasters. The purpose of this hearing is to review current national preparedness efforts and discuss how existing federal programs can be more effective and efficient.

Haiti Earthquake
